Chance -- and apparently supermodels -- favor the brave, the bold and the man in uniform -- or so U.S. Naval Academy Midshipman Robert Madel has discovered. On May 17, 2003, Madel will escort supermodel Carolyn Murphy, the 'face of Estee Lauder,' to his Second-Class Ring Dance in Annapolis, Maryland, because he had the guts -- or the audacity -- to ask Estee Lauder Companies Inc. chairman Leonard Lauder to follow his own advice on leadership. Murphy is shown in an undated photo.
